From Edinburgh to Exeter and Barrow-in-Furness to Brighton, more than 70 cinemas the length and breadth of the UK will be joining thousands of others in almost 30 countries across the globe in screening EXHIBITION.

Award-winning arts documentary maker, Phil Grabsky (Leonardo Live, In Search of Beethoven and The Boy Mir – Ten Years in Afghanistan), in association with Seventh Art Productions, and BY Experience (the global leading “alternative content” distributor) have launched this ground-breaking series of art events for cinema. This world first aims to allow art lovers, old and new, to enjoy, marvel and delight at the works of some of history’s greatest ever painters captured using high-tech digital cinema technology.

Over 450 venues from coast to coast of the USA will be screening Exhibition. Other countries confirmed to exhibit the series include: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, with many others pending.

In the UK, the two largest groups participating are VUE and Picturehouse /City Screen.

Screenings begin on 11 April with Manet: Portraying Life at the Royal Academy of Arts, London. Cinemagoers will have a unique opportunity to see behind-the-scenes footage of exhibition preparations, and to take an exclusive tour of the works on show, in the company of renowned art historian and broadcaster Tim Marlow and his special guests. They will also experience short biographical films about the artist partially shot on location. Manet: Portraying Life has been organised by the Royal Academy of Arts, London, in collaboration with the Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio. The exhibition is sponsored by BNY Mellon, Partner of the Royal Academy of Arts.

Following MANET, the next two EXHIBITION events are MUNCH - from the National Museum & Munch museum, Oslo (27 June) and VERMEER - from the National Gallery, London (10 October). And this is just the beginning. EXHIBITION is already in pre production for major exhibitions in 2014.
