Cumberbatch: Stop calling yourselves b***hes!

Benedict Cumberbatch thinks it’s “funny” he’s adored by women.

The 38-year-old actor recently shot to fame as the title character in Sherlock Holmes, and is soon to star in television series The Imitation Game. And although he appreciates his fans, he wants them to re-evaluate the way they see themselves.

Those who consider themselves true lovers of the actor have implemented the nickname “Cumberb***hes”, which has him a little concerned.

"It's funny and I'm flattered," he told People magazine.

But he wants them to think of a different name. The British heartthrob believes the chosen title is offensive to women everywhere.

"On a serious note, come on, give yourself more power as women," Benedict insisted. "Don't just call yourself b***hes!"

He did suggest some alternatives during the same interview. Claiming there are plenty of options other than the present one, he gave a number of convoluted options.

"Cumbersomes? Cumbercollective? Cumberfans?" he smiled. "There's lots of stuff!"

This is something Benedict has spoken emphatically about in the past. He’d prefer for those who appreciate him and his work to come up with something that properly represents their intelligence.

However, Benedict has plenty to keep himself occupied outside of his fan base right now. He has recently become engaged to his love Sophie Hunter. She works as a theater director, and is apparently quite supportive of her famous fiancé and all the necessities that come as part of the package.

"She's just so in command of it," he told the magazine. "It could be a difficult thing, but she's just really cool. It's really impressive."
