Daniel Craig apparently uses actor Robert Wagner's name as an alias.

The current James Bond has won fans the world over with his brooding portrayal of 007.

Apparently Daniel has found a crafty way to avoid being recognised everywhere he goes.

"We’re told Craig uses fellow actor Wagner’s name as an alias when picking up mail near the home he shares with wife Rachel Weisz in upstate Stone Ridge," reports the New York Post.

While there has been speculation Daniel is ready to leave the prestigious franchise, 83-year-old Robert's name has been mentioned among gossip about who will take over as Bond.

Despite his age, Twitter fans around the world discussed how good the actor would be in the role.

Some mega fans even set up a Facebook page called We Want Robert Wagner for James Bond.

The publication reached out to Craig's rep for comment regarding the alias, but received no reply.

The Bond star has been keeping busy with sporting events recently and headed to the ANZ Stadium in Sydney to watch the rugby.

Daniel, 45, cheered on the British & Irish Lions as they defeated the Australian Wallabies at the weekend.

He even asked the sports stars if he could have a picture with the winning team - and his wish was gladly granted by the victorious Lions.
