Daniel Craig reportedly uses Bond villain names to check into hotels.
The 46-year-old actor is famed for his portrayal of the smooth spy in the 007 franchise, but is also known for keeping his personal life out of the limelight. He's apparently realised that utilising characters from the movies can help him fly under the radar, prompting some strange guests to take rooms in hotels around the world.
"It shows his sense of humour but also the fact he likes to keep a low profile, just like the world’s most famous secret agent," an insider told British newspaper The Sun.
To ensure he doesn't get caught out, Daniel often chooses names featured in older Bond movies. He recently travelled to Morocco, where he apparently pretended to be called Kananga - the villain in 1973 movie Live and Let Die.
"The limo driver picked up this Kananga and didn’t think anything of it, then realised it was Daniel Craig," the source giggled.
The star has been in the country since last weekend, with rumours he is filming a cameo for the upcoming Star Wars flick.
Towards the end of the year Daniel will start shooting the latest spy instalment, which is currently titled Bond 24. At the moment no details of the movie have been released, although it's thought Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw will all be returning. The highly-anticipated release is due out in October next year, with Sam Mendes taking on directorial duties.
Daniel is married to Rachel Weisz, although the pair don't talk about their home life publicly. They tied the knot in secret in 2011 and later that year Daniel explained why secrecy is so important to him.
"It's not about being afraid to be public with your emotions or about who you are and what you stand for. But if you sell it off it's gone," he told GQ magazine during an interview in which he slammed reality TV family the Kardashians.
"You can't buy it back - you can't buy your privacy back. Ooh I want to be alone. F**k you. We've been in your living room. We were at your birth. You filmed it for us and showed us the placenta and now you want some privacy'"
