Danny Dyer believes acting comes naturally to him

Danny Dyer says he is a born actor as drama is the one thing that comes naturally to him.

The British actor is famed for roles in The Football Factory, The Business and Outlaw, and can be seen in action movie Age of Heroes opposite Sean Bean. The movie is based on the formation of Ian Fleming's 30 Commando unit during World War II - the template for the elite forces in the UK.

The 33-year-old star says his acting ability was obvious from a young age. Although he never considered becoming an actor full time, he always found drama easy and more enjoyable than any subject at school.

“For me, when I was at school, I wasn’t good at much. I struggled with most things but found drama so easy. I don’t know what it is; it just came very naturally to me and I didn’t have to think about it too much. It’s the first time I actually started to enjoy doing something. I’d never thought about it as a career, it was just something I loved doing, then as I got older I thought ‘Why not? Why not have a crack?’” he told Cover Media.

Danny has revealed the film industry is a “ruthless” one. He believes that it has a great ability to nurture talent, but says women have a tougher ride than men.

“It’s a ruthless business, there’s a lot of rejection. It’s tough, it’s like any business, trying to reach the top. And listen, it’s one of those businesses where you learn every day. I don’t think you can reach a peak as an actor. Being a male actor is a great feeling because you can work well into your 70s.You can work as long as your body and mind allow you to. The older you get, the better you get. You have more life experiences and become a better actor,” he explained.

“I think it’s a lot tougher for women though.”

Age of Heroes is in UK cinemas now and on DVD and Blu-ray on June 13.
