Lena Dunham has begged people not to look at the leaked alleged nude pictures of celebrities.
Yesterday purported naked images of many A-list celebrities were posted online, reportedly after a hacker broke into their iCloud accounts. Jennifer Lawrence is one of them, with her spokesperson confirming the pictures are of her and stating police have already been called in.
Kate Upton's lawyer has also released a statement, while Mary Elizabeth Winstead admitted pictures of her were genuine too.
Many stars have spoken out about the breach of privacy, with Girls star Lena furious at what has happened.
"The way in which you share your body must be a CHOICE. Support these women and do not look at these pictures," she wrote on Twitter.
"Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again. It's not okay (sic)."
A list of 101 celebrities which the hacker has allegedly obtained intimate photographs of has been posted online. However, some of those have insisted published images are fake, among them Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice. Other stars, including Rihanna and Selena Gomez, are mentioned on the list but no pictures have been leaked.
The subject has been widely posted about on Twitter, with Lena angry about some of the remarks she has read.
"Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they're a sex offender," she stated.
"The "don't take naked pics if you don't want them online" argument is the "she was wearing a short skirt" of the web. Ugh (sic)."
Model Chrissy Teigen is just as furious as Lena about what has happened. She has personally responded to several Twitter users who suggested having supposed nude pictures of yourself leaked isn't that big a deal, insisting it's the wider case about invasion of privacy people should be concerned with.
"How on earth is the villain the celebrity here? I know humanity loves to bond over sh**ting on the rich and famous but have a f**king soul," she wrote.
"What the f**k is on your phone? I'm sure you got some sh*t. Everyone is entitled to parts of their lives they don't have to share with you."
Anna Kendrick chose to lighten the mood a little, sharing a funny text she'd received from her brother Mike. He messaged the actress to say he'd never been so happy not to see her name included on a list, with Anna joking that he had nothing to worry about.
"Don't worry bro, it would just be photos of food and other people's dogs anyway (sic)," she wrote.
