(Cover) - EN Movies - Dustin Hoffman has more directing projects “in the pipeline”.

The legendary actor is currently promoting his movie Quartet, which marks his directorial debut. Dustin enjoyed working on the comedy drama, which is set in a home for retired opera singers, and is planning to test out his filmmaking skills again in the future.

However, the star was reluctant to give away too many details about his plans.

“I hope I will be doing more projects like this, I have a few in the pipeline, yes, but I can't say what,” Dustin told Cover Media at the Quartet premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on Monday. “We've shown it at two film festivals and had good responses. This is the first time I've felt comfortable coming to a premiere.”

Dustin was then asked why he hadn’t directed a movie before Quartet. He joked that his therapist or his spouse would be better equipped to reply to that question.

“My wife can answer that - I suppose I was frightened but I can give you the number of my therapist and he can answer that,” he laughed.

The 75-year-old actor has enjoyed considerable success throughout his career.

Dustin has appeared in movies such as Rain Man, Kramer vs. Kramer and The Graduate and picked up a host of awards including two Oscars.

Dustin felt inspired to step behind the camera after some of his Hollywood peers proved that acting experience can improve your filmmaking skills.

“Well it's a natural progression. Ultimately you know at least as much as the director does being an actor,” he explained. “The best directors are those that have been actors but even in the past the best have been actors - it’s a natural walk.”
