Dwayne Johnson: Everyone's flawed

Dwayne Johnson admits he's more "flawed" in real life than in his movies.

The 43-year-old began his career as a wrestler before turning his hand at acting, making his big motion picture debut in 2001's The Mummy Returns.

Since then he's become somewhat of an action hero, but Dwayne isn't as hard away from the camera as he is in front of it.

"In movies like [upcoming film] San Andreas, I play a cool guy who trips a little bit and comes back up. But in real life you trip a little bit more often than you do in movies, and you're a bit more flawed.

"I've got a pretty cool job, but man, I'm trying to be a good dad," he explained to Men's Health, referring to his teenage daughter Simone with ex-wife Dany. "There was a time in my life when I used to joke that my name should just be 'I'm sorry.' I'm sorry. I'm sooory... And I'm sorry now for all the sh*t I'm going to say - I'm sure - in a week."

Dwayne's life now is a far cry from what it used to be - when he was 14 he came home to find him and his mother Ata had been evicted from their residence in Honolulu. With then-professional wrestler Rocky Johnson as his dad and his grandfather 'High Chief' Peter Maivia also in the sport, there was one clear path for the star to follow to get his family in a good place.

"I remember thinking, 'I will do whatever I can to make sure this never happens again,'" Dwayne recalled of the eviction.
