Elisabeth Moss says her Mad Men co-star Jon Hamm has a “big comedy bone”.

The actress plays copywriter Peggy Olson in the award-winning US television show, while Jon is womanising advertising executive Don Draper.

Elisabeth loves working with Jon, revealing he never fails to offer her support and make her laugh on the set.

“Jon Hamm is a really funny guy. He has a big comedy bone,” she told the April issue of UK magazine Marie Claire. “But he is also an incredibly caring and supportive friend to me. You don’t always like your co-stars, so it’s really enjoyable to be in a scene with him. We shoot lots in a short time period; even though there’s a sense of ‘move, move, move’ we still goof around.”

Mad Men will soon return to the small screen with its hotly-anticipated fifth season.

Elisabeth can’t wait for fans of the show – which is set in New York City during the ‘60s - to see the new episodes.

She is thrilled to portray a character who has been allowed to develop and continually push boundaries.

“I would have been happy playing a secretary for five seasons, so to have a character who doesn’t always do what you expect is great,” she explained. “This season, she’s really going to surprise people. I can’t imagine what’s going to happen when the show finishes, but it’s not going to be easy.”
