Elizabeth Hurley thankful for wedding well-wishes

Elizabeth Hurley has thanked well-wishers after confirming her engagement.

The 46-year-old British actress has been dating Australian cricketer Shane Warne for just ten months. Shane is believed to have proposed at the Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews, Scotland, on Friday night.

Elizabeth and Shane both took to their Twitter accounts to reveal their happy news after engagement rumours surfaced yesterday.

"Thanks for all your congratulations,” they posted in identical messages. “Here's a pic of us about to go to Dunhill dinner in St Andrews."

The picture was taken just before the pair went for dinner at the exclusive hotel, where Shane popped the question.

The 42-year-old is believed to have publicly asked Elizabeth in front of a roomful of diners at the Road Hole restaurant.

Elizabeth proudly showed off her stunning engagement ring yesterday. As they posed at the Alfred Dunhill Links championship golf tournament, Elizabeth displayed the band – which boasts an impressive square sapphire and a diamond on either side.

The couple were first seen together in December last year, after they were spotted kissing in London.

Elizabeth’s divorce from businessman Arun Nayar was finalised in June.

The beauty has a son with millionaire businessman Steve Bing, while Shane has three children with his ex-wife.

The pair have not yet announced a wedding date.
