Evan Rachel Wood thinks Shia LaBeouf if "very professional", despite his "crazy" reputation.

The 27-year-old actress starred opposite the actor in Charlie Countryman, in which they play lovers Charlie and Gabi.

Shia has caused a lot of controversy over the last year with his shunning the spotlight and being arrested for disorderly conduct at a New York theatre in June, after an outburst during a performance of Cabaret. Despite his behaviour, Evan insists he remained dedicated during the production of Charlie Countryman.

"I really liked working with Shia. I know he’s got this crazy reputation, and I knew that going into it, but, honestly, as an actor he’s very hardworking and very focused and very professional. He’s good, you know," she explained to Refinery29.com. "It’s like, you can say what you want about him, but at the end of the day, he delivers a really amazing performance. So, everyone’s got their own process. I just kind of let everyone be who they are. But, I really liked the movie we did together - I think we turned out something pretty good."

Evan can next be seen in sci-fi flick Into the Forest. She and Ellen Page play sisters who must survive as the world around them prepares for an apocalypse. It's a role Evan feels strongly about, as she doesn't think it's a theme which crops up in the movie industry often.

"I’m so excited. It’s a really intense film - I feel like I’ve never seen a movie like this. It’s starring two young women. We’re the heroes of the film. We’re taking care of ourselves, and we’re warriors in it," she added. "So, I think it’s really refreshing to see a film with two very strong leading ladies taking care of themselves. It takes place in the not-so-distant future. Everything is ending - there’s no water, there’s no gas or electricity. Life as you know it just ceases to be."
