(Cover) - EN Movies - Colin Firth has joked he wants to appear in a Wagner opera with Cameron Diaz.

The pair had a blast making crime caper Gambit, with Colin playing an art curator who seeks revenge on his boss with the help of Cameron’s eccentric rodeo champion character.

While they enjoyed testing out their comic chops for the film, Colin has suggested they look for something rather more serious. He would like the pair to show off their singing skills and star in one of German composer Richard Wagner’s musical dramas for their next collaboration.

“Yes, I would love to work with Cameron again,” Colin told UK TV show Daybreak. “Let’s not be funny next time… We could appear in a Wagner opera.”

Cameron appeared to be enthusiastic about his idea, replying, “OK, yes, we can just be dramatic.”

The Hollywood beauty went on to reveal she has long harboured a desire to work with Colin. She insists she had singled him out as a perfect co-star even before he won an Oscar for The King’s Speech.

“I did absolutely, I wanted to work with Colin. In the script that had come [for Gambit] he wasn’t yet an Academy Award winner, so I wanted to work with him before that,” she gushed.

Cameron plays a Texas rodeo queen in Gambit and admits she got into trouble on set while working on the lasso scenes.

Although Cameron displayed a great deal of enthusiasm, she wasn’t always accurate.

“I did some training and I learnt to rope and then I didn’t get to do it anymore,” she laughed. “I did lasso the crew a lot.”

However, Colin was quick to defend Cameron’s skills.

“She did, she lassoed the crew. She does not mess, this girl can seriously nail a dolly grip from 100 yards,” he added.
