Hugh Jackman feels lucky that a second cancerous growth was spotted.

The hunky X-Men star was photographed with a bandage covering his nose while attending the New York premiere of the franchise's latest instalment on Saturday, following the speedy removal of the growth.

Hugh, 45, learned the results of a biopsy diagnosing the basal cell carcinoma on Thursday, and acted immediately.

“It’s good, it’s fine,” High assured New York Daily News' Confidenti@l column. “We got it taken out a couple of days ago now, got the stitches. I’m lucky. You’ve got to get checked, got to wear sunscreen. I’m just grateful that it was spotted.”

Hugh first underwent the procedure in November and let fans know by posting a picture of himself with a similar bandage.

Putting the health scare to one side, the Australian star couldn't help but gush about his new film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, but did grumble about the early starts.

“A little bit of me complains about the 4am wakeup calls, but that’s just because I’m an actor and I complain,” he joked. “Really, I love it and I’m enjoying it more than ever.

"He’s [Wolverine] kind of Mad Max and Dirty Harry all rolled into one. He’s a pretty classic archetype for Hollywood. He marches to the beat of his own drum - he’s part of the team but he’s also pretty badass, as they say here.”

The film co-stars fellow Hollywood heavy hitters Halle Berry, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence, and brings together the original cast and the newer incarnations of the much loved super human characters.

Jennifer said the premise of the movie thrilled her. "It’s a combination of both casts - the original, which is just incredible, and the new cast, which is better. Just kidding! And we’re brought together. I think that’s really exciting. I mean, I got excited," the Oscar-winning actress smiled.
