(Cover) - EN Movies - Hugh Jackman has reportedly been asking to re-do fight scenes with Russell Crowe as he is enjoying punching his co-star.

The pair are currently shooting a big screen adaptation of Les Misérables. For one sequence, Hugh’s character Jean Valjean lands a direct hit on Inspector Javert, played by Russell.

Although Hugh is managing to nail the scene, he is jokingly requesting to repeat the performance.

"The crew find it hilarious as Crowe would obviously sweep the floor with Jackman in real life,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. "Hugh keeps egging Russell on and winding him up. But he's been getting his own back by calling Hugh a twirlie, which is showbiz speak for a singer/dancer."

Valjean and Javert are bitter enemies in the musical movie, adapted from the classic novel by Victor Hugo.

Hugh previously revealed he couldn’t wait to start shooting the movie.

“I’m really pumped about doing this,” he gushed. “I’ve done a lot of musicals and I’ve done a lot of movies, so this feels like something that I’ve been waiting to do.”

Despite several stints on Broadway and a Tony award, securing the part wasn’t easy for Hugh. The star had to undergo a gruelling audition process to win the role of Valjean.

The new film boasts a star-studded cast with names such as Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Amanda Seyfried and Sacha Baron Cohen also appearing.

Les Misérables is slated for a January 2013 release.
