Jackie Chan says he’s joined the cast of Expendables 3.

The martial arts star confirmed to Cinema Online he’s on board for Sylvester Stallone’s forthcoming action sequel.

The website reports the actor was asked by Sylvester to star in Expendables 2 but he was too busy filming his new movie, CZ12.

“[I] couldn't make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes,” he said.

According to the website, Jackie made the remarks during a recent press conference promoting CZ12 in Kuala Lumpur.

A representative for the actor told Huffington Post a deal has yet to be signed.

“Nothing has been set at this time,” the spokesperson said.

Sylvester Stallone, credited with writing and starring in the series, has not commented on the report.

The Expendables franchise owes its success in part to reuniting aging action heroes, including Sylvester, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.

Jason Statham and Jason Li are also rumoured to be reprising their roles for the third installation.

Expendables 3 is tentatively set for release in 2014.
