From today, Thursday November 27, film fans around the world will have the chance to start voting for their favourite films and performances of the year when the ballot opens for the Jameson Empire Awards 2015. The ceremony will take place on Sunday March 29, 2015, in London, and is expected to attract a host of star names from across the movie world.
Voted for solely by film fans, the Jameson Empire Awards is a unique event, ranking alongside other major awards ceremonies and hot on the heels of the OSCARS® and BAFTAs, offering the cinema-going public the opportunity to get their voices heard.
Voters can choose from films released in the period January 31, 2014 – January 31, 2015 in a range of categories including: Best Male and Female Newcomer, Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Best Thriller presented by Corinthia Hotel London, Best British Film, Best Film, Best Comedy presented by Absolute Radio, Best Director, Best Actress and the Jameson Best Actor.
Each year, the Jameson Empire Awards attract some of the biggest names in Hollywood, with last year’s guests including: Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Simon Pegg, James McAvoy, Sally Hawkins, Rosamund Pike, Kate Beckinsale, Darren Aronofsky, J. J. Abrams, Steve Coogan, Jonathan Ross, the Inbetweeners cast, Stephen Fry, Edith Bowman, Sarah Harding, Richard E. Grant, Will Poulter, Paul Greengrass, Brian Cox, Armando Iannucci, Hayley Atwell, Logan Lerman and Professor Brian Cox.
Jameson Irish Whiskey has partnered with Empire magazine for the Jameson Empire Awards and the Done In 60 Seconds competition for the last seven years. Jameson has been involved in film since 1998, and today it is involved in festivals and events around the world which celebrate the passion and craft of filmmaking.
