Jane Lynch has joked “ordering people around” is the key to Hollywood stardom.
The star is known for the great sense of humour she brings to roles and has won several awards for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester in the musical TV series Glee.
The 52-year-old has laughed that diva demands get people to the top in the industry.
“The first thing you should do is order people around,” she deadpanned when asked how to be a successful actress during a BBC Radio 1 interview.
“Order a cappuccino and say which degree you want the milk at!”
Jane’s latest stint sees her lending her voice to tough character Sergeant Calhoun in Walt Disney animation Wreck-It Ralph.
She joked that even when stars don’t actually appear on screen they should keep people on their toes.
“Get menus from all the restaurants around and take an hour and a half to order,” she advised.
“Refuse to talk to anyone, let them know who’s boss! It’s the easiest job in the world but make them think it’s hard.”
The comedienne has been lucky enough to have her talents shown on the big screen in hit films such as Role Models.
Jane gave a tongue-in-cheek explanation for her success.
“When I started treating everyone like cr*p - that’s when things started happening!” she grinned.
Wreck-It Ralph hit cinemas this month and also features the voices of John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman.
