Jason Schwartzman thinks the movie business is an "odd way of life".

The 34-year-old actor has starred in an array of big hits over the years, including Marie Antoinette and Saving Mr. Banks.

He is always busy preparing for his next role, but during the rare times he is in between jobs, Jason struggles to adjust to his everyday living.

"Yeah. Somewhat all the time. I don’t mean it in a bad way, like I’m walking down the street unsure of who I am. Working is so fun and so great. I love it, and I put so much into it. Any time you’re done with work or a movie, it’s such an odd way of life," he told salon.com when asked if he's ever experienced a crisis of identity.

"Your normal way of life is at a certain pace, and working on a movie is so different. With the amount of talking and repetition, after that there’s always a moment of, 'Huh. What now' What becomes of this' Not just because of acting, but I think it’s a natural way to be."

Jason can next be seen opposite Elisabeth Moss in drama Listen Up Philip. He plays the titular character, an author who finds refuge at a fellow writer's home as he impatiently awaits the publication of his second book.

Elisabeth takes on the role of Jason's onscreen girlfriend Ashley, and the pair made sure to bond before filming to put on a convincing performance.

"I spent a month with [director and writer] Alex [Ross Perry] and we talked about the script every day. I also have a bad attention span, so it was good to spend time with him, wander off, and let our conversations take us to strange places," Jason recalled. "Elisabeth came ten days before because she was working on something else, and she’s just a different type of creature altogether. She’s an insanely amazing actor."
