(Cover) - EN Movies - Jason Statham would love to be as cool as Clint Eastwood.

The 44-year-old actor has admitted that as he gets older he would love to continue to do action movies. He looks up to Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood as an example of how to continue fighting, even in old age.

“Clint Eastwood has always been someone that I’ve looked up to,” he said in an interview with the BBC. “He plays a brilliant hero and he doesn’t have to throw people around too much. So if I could get five per cent of how cool Clint does his action movies I’d be very happy.”

Jason stars alongside Robert De Niro and Clive Owen in director Gary McKendry’s action-thriller Killer Elite. Clive plays the villain in the movie and Jason found it a pleasure to work with such an “intense” actor.

“I think it’s the recipe for great confrontation,” he gushed. “You get me having to fight someone as intense as Clive Owen – I never normally get that kind of opposition.”

Clive is famous for his dialogue driven roles in films such as Duplicity and Closer. But he is enjoying his new foray into action, confessing that he found shooting the action sequences “satisfying”.

“I approach the scenes in the same way I approach a dialogue scene,” he explained. “They’ve got to be believable, they’ve got to make sense, they’ve got to be logical and you’ve got to perform them as intensely as you can.”

Killer Elite premieres in theatres on September 23.
