Jennifer Aniston loves being part of an ensemble cast.

The actress' latest project is Life of Crime, which boasts an impressive cast including Isla Fisher, Tim Robbins and Mos Def.

Rather than taking on the lead role Jennifer blends in with her co-stars, and actually prefers it that way.

"Oh my god it's the most fun actually," Jennifer revealed on British TV show Lorraine. "Look, I mean I came from, way back, from sketch comedy where you were always playing different characters and that was so much fun.

"You know there's nothing like being able to dive deep into a character - I love comedies, don't get me wrong. I love them, they fulfil me; making people laugh has been medicine to me. But I also really enjoy going into these little gems of movies."

The film tells the story of two conmen who kidnap a corrupt real-estate developer's wife. When they demand he pays them $1million for her release, they're surprised to find out he has no interest in meeting their needs.

"I think it's a great old crime caper. It's very in that vein of great seventies movies. It's suspenseful, it's scary, it's funny at times and it's unpredictable," Jennifer gushed.

Later this year will see the release of Horrible Bosses 2, the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2011 original in which Jennifer plays a highly sexed dentist.

She's also completed filming on darker movie Cake, due out in 2015. With such a high-flying career, the 45-year-old often finds herself the subject of media scrutiny, but says she doesn't let it get her down.

"I'm sure anyone who deals with some sort of lack of anonymity has fantasies of going back to a time when they could just do anything they wanted... sit in an outdoor cafe or whatever it is," she sighed.

"But then you go, 'But then I wouldn't get to do the work that I do.' I love what I do and I love my life. I've created a world where it's all quite manageable. And you can actually walk down the street. You just got to do it."
