Jenna Dewan-Tatum has joined the superhero universe.

The wife of Channing Tatum will star as Lucy Lane in upcoming CBS show Supergirl, which focuses on the adventures of Superman's cousin.

Now comes the exciting news that Jenna joins the line up as the sister of the famous Lois Lane.

"So excited to share with you guys and join this awesome show! (sic)," she tweeted in response to a welcome post from the show's official account.

Mother-of-one Jenna, 34, joins Melissa Benoist as Supergirl and there's already some info on the kind of character Lucy is.

"Lucy is described as funny, brash (and obviously beautiful) and heads to Supergirl's town to 'right a previous wrong,'" cbs.com teased.

"She also has friends in high places; she has a history with James Olsen, played by actor Mehcad Brooks."

Supergirl is set to hit CBS on October 26, so fans will get a real taste of Jenna and co. then.

But TV projects aren't the only thing keeping the Step Up star busy. The keen dancer put on a show for charity on Saturday at the Dizzy Feet Foundation’s Fifth Annual Celebration of Dance Gala in LA.

Even if she was a bit rusty, the limber star enjoyed herself.

“It has been a while, but I’m really excited,” she smiled to Variety.

“It feels really great to get back and have the dance part of my body reunited... performing was my first true love. My body is sore, but my heart is happy."
