(Cover) - EN Movies - Jennifer Lawrence thought she was going to be kicked out of the Academy after her mother cast her ballot for the Oscars.
The Winter’s Bone actress was recently admitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which organises and oversees the annual awards ceremony.
Members submit their votes for the top films each year and it’s considered a prestigious honour.
And Jennifer admits she was stunned when she found out her mother, Karen, broke a rule that could have had her kicked out.
“Recently I got into the Academy which was really exciting for me,” she told Ellen DeGeneres on the comedienne’s US talk show.
The 22-year-old star went on to describe how she recently received a call from her mother saying she did something “hilarious”.
“She was like, ‘I voted’… ‘The ballot came here and I voted!’” Jennifer recalled.
The actress admitted she was not amused. But she got a second chance after her mother made another mistake sending the form in.
“She thought I’d [laugh],” Jennifer said. “Fortunately she did it wrong and mailed it back to herself so I got to do it again.”
