Jessica Paré expecting

Mad Men star Jessica Paré is pregnant with her first child.

The 33-year-old actress is famed for her portrayal of Megan Draper on the hit AMC series, but has kept her personal life including her relationship with musician John Kastner relatively quiet. The couple are now expecting their first baby together.

The news was confirmed by the star’s reps to Us Weekly on Tuesday. Whilst it will be Jessica’s first time as a mother, John already has a seven-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

In her on-screen life as Ms. Draper, having children has not been a priority. Her character instead opted to focus solely on her career, after suffering a miscarriage at one point in the series.

In real life, however, Jessica has had more paternal instincts. She revealed earlier this year she was eager to have children and that she and John had already begun contemplating parenthood.

“I do want kids,” the star told Canadian publication Fashion Magazine back in February of this year. “I am dating John Kastner, who is also from Montreal. We’ve been together for four years, so we have discussions.”

Both Jessica and John hail from the same Canadian city, and she noted this was a plus with regards to long term compatibility. She explained that being brought up in a similar environment helped them relate to one another.

"There’s something about meeting someone from your hometown,” she confessed. “You have a lot in common with them. Montreal is a special place in the world to be from—there is nowhere like it, so we understand each other.”

The brunette beauty previously married writer and producer Joseph M. Smith in 2007, but the pair later divorced.
