John Travolta reportedly pulled out his Saturday Night Fever dance moves at an Oscars after-party.

The Academy Awards were held in Los Angeles on Sunday night, with Jennifer Lawrence winning best actress, Daniel Day-Lewis named best actor and Ben Affleck's Argo bagging the best movie prize.

A host of bashes are held after the glitzy ceremony, with Madonna and Guy Oseary's one of the biggest of the bunch.

The annual party is usually held at manager Guy's home and this year stars including Ashton Kutcher, Daniel Day-Lewis and Selena Gomez were in attendance.

John also went and apparently couldn't help showing off his moves when Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees began blaring out.

He immediately performed the famous routine from his 1977 movie, for which he received an Oscar nod. According to reports his moves went down a storm with guests, who New York Post claims quickly began to replicate them.

Other details of the party remain a closely-guarded secret at the moment, although it was likely a luxury affair. Last year's bash was sponsored by Gucci, with guests receiving sunglasses and luggage embossed with their initials as a thank-you for attending.

Seth MacFarlane hosted Sunday's Oscars ceremony and received mixed reviews after poking fun at Rihanna and Chris Brown's rekindled romance and Adele's weight.

Afterwards he invited 500 guests to party with him, among them Charlize Theron, Matthew Morrison, Steven Tyler and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. To keep them entertained Seth arranged for a large orchestra to be present, who backed him up as he sang a series of show tunes.

It was a good night for George Clooney, who produced best picture winner Argo. He celebrated with Ben after the ceremony, with the two stars spotted enjoying dinner with a group.
