Angelina Jolie is reportedly making her forthcoming Cleopatra film a family affair.
The actress will play the Egyptian queen in an adaptation of Stacy Schiff's 2010 book.
And according to UK newspaper The Mirror, Angelina will be joined by Brad Pitt and the couple’s six children on the big screen.
“Their whole family life is rooted in films but Brad and Ange didn’t want the children to follow in their footsteps. However, acting is in their genes, and it could turn out to be the start of something big for the next generation,” a purported movie insider said.
Angelina and Brad famously met while working on 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith before his divorce from Jennifer Aniston.
The couple’s six-year-old daughter, Vivienne, featured in her most recent film, Maleficent, in the role of a young Princess Aurora.
And the 38-year-old Oscar-winner admitted her daughter was a natural, even when facing her mother as the famous Disney villain.
“It was great. I only put her in the film because the other children her age would be scared of me because I looked quite scary as Maleficent,” Angelina recently told MailOnline.
At the time, however, the star seemed averse to the idea of the rest of her children following suit.
“Neither one of us want our children to be actors, Brad and I, but it was just I really couldn’t ask another four or five-year-old to do it because kids on set did actually get scared and they would cry when they would see me. I was shocked at how well Vivienne did," she said.
It was unclear at press time the extent of the roles Brad and their children might take on in Cleopatra.
Angelina has yet to confirm the claims, only revealing how eager she is to take on the role.
“We’ve been working on it. There’s been lots of different ideas of directors and lots of different discussions,” she told BBC Radio 5 Live in May, hinting it could be her final acting project.
“It’s one of those that you think maybe that’s the one you put everything into and that’s where you end it, that’s where you finish – in a great way. What could you do beyond that one'” she asked.
Either way, Brad and Angelina will share the screen once again.
Universal Pictures confirmed on Friday the couple will co-produce and co-star in By the Sea, an “intimate, character-driven drama” which Angelina wrote and will direct, according to USA Today.
