(Cover) - EN Movies - Jude Law felt like Stephen Fry gave him a “pat on the back” when he joined the cast of the new Sherlock Holmes movie.

Stephen plays Mycroft Holmes, the brother of Sherlock, in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Robert Downey Jr. has reprised his role as the eccentric British detective, while Jude plays his sidekick Dr. Watson once again.

Jude was thrilled when Stephen agreed to appear in the sequel, as he is a huge fan of his work.

“Getting Stephen Fry on board and knowing he had liked the first film was like getting a really big pat on the back,” he said during an interview on UK television show Daybreak. “He was a member of the Sherlock Holmes appreciation society, so we were thrilled when he joined the cast.”

In the follow-up to the 2009 movie Sherlock Holmes, Jude and Robert reignite their onscreen chemistry. The pair are great friends in real life, and Jude wanted their bond to translate onto the big screen.

“What tickled us both was the idea of two guys living together and having a very domestic relationship, almost like students living together or brothers sharing a bedroom,” he explained, before revealing how happy he was to be reunited with Robert for the second film. “It was so good! I went into a slump of depression for about six months.”

In Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows the detective duo join forces to bring down their greatest adversary, Professor Moriarty.

The movie is released worldwide this month.
