Katharine McPhee 'caught kissing director'

Katharine McPhee is allegedly dating her former Smash director.

TMZ has obtained a picture of the actress kissing Michael Morris in public, but both stars are married to other people.

Director-and-producer Michael is married to Mary McCormack and they have three daughters, Margaret, Rose and Lillian, together.

Katharine, 29, wed 42-year-old Nick Cokas in 2008 and they don't have any children together.

According to the website, Katharine and Nick's relationship has been on the rocks for some time.

"Sources close to Katharine and Nick tell TMZ... the two have been separated for six months and are living apart," TMZ writes.

It's not known whether Michael's marriage is encountering any problems.

However, the picture shows the pair kissing in broad daylight in Los Angeles.

According to the gossip site, Katharine and Michael were also spotted holding hands and cuddling while strolling around Hollywood.

There was no comment from the pair when TMZ reached out to them.

Katharine played Karen Cartwright on musical show Smash between 2012 and 2013.

Michael directed episodes of the programme, which was cancelled in May.

Katharine has previously revealed she's pleased she has no children with Nick.

"I once thought that by now I'd have lots of children, but actually I'm really enjoying being able to go from point A to point B and the only worry I have is have my dogs been walked," she told Lucky magazine in January. "I'm selfish right now, but that's how and where I should be. The thing is, work is the thing I love the most."
