Kristen Stewart didn't work for two years because she couldn't find anything she liked.

The 24-year-old actress landed her breakthrough role as Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise, which launched her into instant stardom.

Since then she has starred in plenty of critically acclaimed films, but she isn't easily won over when offered projects.

"I didn't make a movie for a really long time because I did not find one that I liked. When I say I choose things instinctively, I'm really not bulls**tting you," she told Total Film magazine. "I didn't work for two years. It just wasn't there. But it was not a plan. It was like 'Where is it' I can't find it!'"

Rather than keep her distance from the hit teen flicks that made her famous, Kristen isn't fazed by being associated with them. She also holds the outlook that those who don't like her based on her Twilight performance simply shouldn't work with her, insisting she has no regrets about taking the lead.

Kristen's long wait has paid off, as not only is she currently starring in Still Alice alongside Julianne Moore, but she also has upcoming movie Clouds of Sils Maria under her belt. The actress plays young star and personal assistant Valentine in the film, whose presence makes older actress Maria Enders (Juliette Binoche) feel uncomfortable.

When quizzed on whether she drew inspiration from her own experience with PAs, Kristen was quick to set the record straight.

"Are you serious' I don't have one right now. I understand the dynamic," she explained. "I think everyone has a different relationship with their assistant. This relationship specifically speaks to things I have seen in life. But I never had such a co-dependent relationship with an assistant."

And Kristen will stay picky about the films she takes on, recently asserting she will take some time out to “breathe”.
