Following the confirmation of King Richard III's final resting place on Monday, viewing figures of Laurence Olivier's 1955 classic movie 'Richard III' have increased by 800% compared to the previous week.

Statistics released today suggest a revived curiosity in the Tudor monarch's life following the discovery, with members using the LOVEFiLM Instant streaming service to watch the award-winning British film.

Directed by and starring Olivier - one of the most famous and revered actors of the 20th century - 'Richard III' depicts the King's bloody path to the throne before his death in the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

The gripping adaptation of William Shakespeare's historical tragedy enjoyed success at both the Golden Globes and BAFTAs, claiming the awards for Best British Film and Best Actor for Olivier's performance at the latter, whilst also receiving an Oscar nod for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
