(Cover) - EN Movies - Mark Wahlberg had to be involved in “every aspect” of Broken City.
The 41-year-old stars in and produced the thriller, which also features Russell Crowe and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Due to his multiple roles in the project, Mark had to make sure he was a part of the whole process.
“With this, you’ve got to be involved in every aspect,” he explained to Collider.
“You’re there from the beginning to the very end of post-production. It’s one of those things where you kind of have to be - and you kind of wanna be. Between action and cut, I’m the actor, and for the rest of the time, I’m producing it.”
Getting big name stars involved isn’t always easy on a tight budget.
However, the Ted actor says no one needed much persuading to be part of such a compelling political story.
“The script got everybody interested,” he revealed.
“It was a very tight budget so with certain people I was like, ‘I’m willing to give you a piece of my backend or whatever I need to do to get you into the movie.’ But everybody was interested because of the material - this was not a giant payday for anybody.”
The father-of-four also divulged his upcoming movie plans.
As well as appearing in a fourth Transformers film, there is a sequel to hit comedy Ted in the works.
“We’re shooting Transformers in May and then we’re gonna do Ted 2 straight afterwards, I believe,” he divulged.
“They’re working on it now...the great thing about it is Seth’s [MacFarlane, writer and director] ideas for the next one are sick. He comes from the world of episodic television so he knows how to tell the story... He’s a different kind of guy.”
