Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher reportedly feel "fate" brought them together.

The couple originally met during their hit TV programme That '70s Show 16 years ago and their friendship turned into romance in 2012. This came after Ashton filed for divorce from his ex-wife Demi Moore, and Mila had split up with her long-term partner Macaulay Culkin.

Now engaged and expecting their first child together, the loved up pair are happier than ever.

“Ashton and Mila never saw this coming. They were best friends their whole lives. They came into fame together. Ashton helped Mila through the Macaulay Culkin breakup. He was always there for her," a source told RadarOnline.

“This is the first time for either of them that a relationship has come out of a friendship. They feel that they are soul partners and that fate brought them together."

Mila and Ashton remained close pals during his marriage to Demi, which ended amid rumours he had been unfaithful. However the former friends were never romantically involved before the split and the Ghost actress was fully aware of their bond from working together before she tied the knot with Ashton.

“Mila had nothing to do with Ashton and Demi Moore’s divorce because Ashton and Mila NEVER had any romantic involvement until after he was done with Demi," the insider added.

“When Mila met Ashton she was 14 years old. She was just a little girl and for many years Ashton was a big brother to her. As they got older, he became her best friend. Demi knew this going into the relationship."

Things are better than ever for Mila and Ashton as they're gearing up to welcome their new arrival to the family. The 30-year-old beauty previously shared her birth plans, and how she wants her husband-to-be at the top end while standing by her side.

"He is staying above the action. He’ll be head to head. Not head to vag. Unless he wants to risk his life and see. But I wouldn’t if I were him. I highly doubt he wants to see that being ripped apart and shredded," she told the US edition of Marie Claire.
