Olivia Williams thinks Hollywood attracts "screwed-up" people.

The British actress appears alongside Julianne Moore in Maps to the Stars, a satirical look at the movie industry.

While she's chosen it as her career path, the 46-year-old knows it's far removed from normal life.

"Hollywood - and the acting profession in general - attracts extraordinarily screwed-up people and they're endlessly fascinating," she admitted to British newspaper Metro. "People who aren't satisfied with their lives or the way they are see going to Hollywood as a way of changing things - and I'd strongly advise them against it.

"The character Julianne Moore plays in Maps to the Stars is third-generation Beverly Hills. Those sorts of people have inherited a completely skewed set of values."

Olivia's career has been very varied, with one role seeing her kiss action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger in movie Sabotage. The experience was all part of the job for the actress.

"Arnold was an extremely respectful and professional kisser," she smiled.

"I've been quite lucky. Looking back on my on-screen snogging career, I haven't had any particularly grim experiences."

Olivia's next film is rom-com Man Up, which so-stars Simon Pegg. It's about a single woman who meets her perfect man when she's mistaken as his blind date.

While she's enjoying great success, Olivia doesn't want her children to follow in her footsteps.

"My personal opinion is that I don't think a child should start working until they're 18," she asserted, adding her kids have no idea what they want to be when they grow up yet.
