(Cover) - EN Movies - Paul Bettany believes the story about the 2008 financial crisis featured in his new movie is as relevant as ever.

The actor stars in fiscal drama Margin Call alongside an all-star cast including Demi Moore, Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci and Simon Baker. Paul explained that considering today’s volatile markets, the film’s message still seems topical.

Directed by J.C. Chandor, the drama follows the key players in an investment firm over 24 hours as they try to deal with the economic crash.

"I do think it's interesting this film... it's about the crash of 2008 and it seems just as appropriate today as it was for that time," the British thespian told UK newspaper The Telegraph.

"I think that in our culture we tend to sort of define how successful our life is by our ability to purchase things and not how happy we are in our lives, and that's a sad state of affairs."

The Iron Man 2 star felt “flattered” by real life bankers’ feedback on the movie.

Paul, who plays a senior salesman called Will Emerson in the drama, said that financial workers described the picture as “authentic”.

"I know some people that work in the finance industry and they who have seen the film say it's the most realistic version that they have seen of their world. They recognise their world much more in this movie than they have in others", he said.
