“Too many have focused on the negative side of one of the greatest musicians in history.”

So says Ray Comfort, the producer of a new movie that is simply called “Genius.”

The Los Angeles-based award-winning film-maker said, “We all have skeletons in the closet, and some of them are pretty ugly. John had his share but the difference with him was that his were made very public.

He has been demonized for his drug usage, his statement about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus, his railing against the other Beatles after the breakup, but all that is ancient history.

This movie looks at the man from a completely new perspective.”

Comfort says that he called the movie “Genius” because many are convinced that John Lennon was a musical genius, adding, “You have to have some sort of talent to head up a group that sells more than 2 ½ billion records—and there are only 7 billion on the planet, and is still going strong 32 years after your death.”

He wants those who think that they know who John Lennon was to watch the movie and make up their own minds. Ken Mansfield, the former U.S. Manager for Apple Records said, “Genius will open your eyes.” Other reviewers have called it “fast-paced, thought-provoking and compelling.”

It is being promoted as “33 minutes that will rock your soul.” The production company’s last movie received more than 3.7 million views on YouTube and aired on television around the world.

“Genius” has been released for free viewing on GeniusTheMovie.com to coincide with the December 8th anniversary of the death of John Lennon.
