Rumer Willis: Ashton was a great stepfather

Rumer Willis feels as if she has to “commend” Ashton Kutcher for his step-parenting skills.

The 26-year-old Dancing with the Stars performer’s mother Demi Moore, 52, was married to the 37-year-old actor from 2005 until their divorce in 2013.

Rumer confesses she found it strange when Demi first began dating Ashton, but eventually she began to admire her stepfather, even though they are just over a decade apart in age.

“It was definitely weird for a minute, but I have to commend him,” Rumer noted during an interview on The Howard Stern Show. “He was a really great stepfather. The perspective switched quickly. That’s when you open up your Teen Beat, you take him down and put somebody else up. I feel like I told my sister that at some point, ‘Gotta cross him off the list.’”

In fact, Rumer began to cheer her mother on after a certain point in Demi and Ashton’s relationship.

She thought it was amazing the esteemed actress dated a man nearly two decades her junior.

“No, I was kind of impressed, I was like ‘Yeah girl, get it!’” Rumer noted.

Rumer’s father is Bruce Willis, Demi’s second husband.

She thinks it’s amazing how her parents have managed to stay friends after ending their 13-year marriage in 2000.

“It’s something that I commend them for so much,” Rumer said. “They made such a huge effort that we never had to split up birthdays or vacations. We literally would all go together. They had this weird thing where they literally just became friends.”

However, Rumer confesses she gets disgusted when her mom and dad perform sex scenes in movies.

“No one wants to hear their parents engage in any sort of sexual things so having it on film was a little awkward,” she admitted.
