Rumer Willis: I don’t want to hear the bullies

Rumer Willis says it was horrendous always being compared to her mother Demi Moore.

The 26-year-old star is the daughter of Demi and ex-husband Bruce Willis. And while Rumer has learned to be happy with her own appearance, she admits that having a Hollywood actress as a mother did little for her self-esteem.

“My mom is a stunning woman, and everyone compared me to her,” Rumer told In Touch Weekly magazine. “They said I looked like a man and called me ‘potato head.’ People were nasty.

“I was awkward. I didn’t feel comfortable with how I looked.”

Over the years, Rumer has discovered ways to accept her looks. But according to the star, the bullying she’s suffered has yet to cease.

“People still say mean things about how I look, how I dress,” she said. “Those are their opinions and that’s great. I just don’t want to hear them.”

Rumer is currently setting the dance floor alight with stunning appearances alongside partner Val Chmerkovskiy on Dancing with the Stars.

And Rumer admits that being on the television programme and showing off her dancing skills in a series of incredible, skimpy outfits has done wonders for her confidence.

“I’ve never felt more beautiful,” she said. “Not everyone is going to like you. But you can’t let that change how you feel about yourself.”

Rumer’s interview came out as it was revealed that she and Val will dance to Destiny’s Child Bootylicious for the upcoming Spring Break week performance of the show.
