(Cover) - EN Movies - Ryan Seacrest is to make his movie producing debut with a romantic comedy.

The star will co-produce the as-yet untitled project with Reese Witherspoon through their respective companies Ryan Seacrest Productions and Type A Films.

The movie will be written by Krista Vernoff, whose credits include penning scripts for US medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.

The film will be made in association with Universal. It is not yet known when the project will begin shooting.

Ryan is no stranger to production – he produces E! Kardashian reality TV shows. He is also host and managing editor of E! News, as well as presenting American Idol and a radio show.

Ryan revealed earlier this year he was keen to make the move into the film industry.

Reese can next be seen in This Means War, also starring Tom Hardy and Chris Pine. The movie is slated for release in February 2012.

Meanwhile, Jason Segel has spoken out about rumours he and Reese are set to star in a new comedy about a couple trying to track down their homemade sex tape.

Jason is keen for the project to go ahead and would love to work with the Oscar-winning actress.

"That would be our dream cast but it's just very, very early in the process," he told E! at the Fulfilment Fund Stars Gala. "You know how Hollywood goes. They report things very early. Right now, Nick [Stoller] and I are just working on a script."
