Sarah Gadon spent ten hours straight kissing her Dracula Untold co-star Luke Evans.

The 27-year-old actress takes on the role of Mirena in the vampire flick, while Luke plays lead Vlad Tepes.

Sarah revealed why this film will differ from other takes on the classic story and what makes her pairing with the 35-year-old hunk so special.

"This film's about the sacrifice a family makes to keep their love alive," she explained.

"I play Princess Mirena, who is married to Vlad, and they have a child together. It's an epic action adventure that is also a love story.

"When I screen tested with Luke, there was a natural chemistry between us. I knew it would be something really special. Which is lucky, as one day of filming was just ten hours of us kissing. Afterwards, we were like, 'OK, I don't have to see you for a day or two!'"

Sarah also appears in Maps to the Stars, which is directed by David Cronenberg and tells the story of a family chasing celebrity in Hollywood. She relished the chance to work with the filmmaker.

"I studied film at university, so the student in me is always attracted to directors," she said of the way she picks projects.

"That's why I get so much out of working with David Cronenberg."

Sarah can also add romantic thriller Girls' Night Out to her repertoire. In it she plays Princess Elizabeth, who manages to get out of Britain's Buckingham Palace for a night out with her sister Margaret.

"I like the complexity of female characters of that era - women so strong, they are almost on the verge of being unlikeable," she contemplated.
