Connery tops the chart but Daniel Craig on course to become the nation’s number one

Sean Connery has been voted the nation’s favourite James Bond almost fifty years after starring in his first 007 film, in research released today to mark the launch of the new GoldenEye 007: Reloaded video game. Nearly one third (31%) of the 2,000 people surveyed named Connery their super spy, but it seems relative newcomer Daniel Craig is hot on the heels to succeed the suave Scot, securing second place with a 20% share of the vote with third place going to Pierce Brosnan (17%).

Craig may only have two Bond films under his belt, versus Connery’s six titles, but with Casino Royale, the first film to see Craig take on the iconic role, coming in as fan’s favourite for one in six (17%) the English actor is further cementing his potential as the number one agent with a ‘Licence to Kill’. 1995 classic GoldenEye followed in second place with 10% of the vote, with Live and Let Die securing third place with an 8% share.

The exhilarating GoldenEye 007: Reloaded video game features an exclusive re-working of the ‘GoldenEye’ theme song by Grammy award nominated singer and X Factor USA judge, Nicole Scherzinger. The song, originally a hit for Tina Turner, ranked as the third most popular Bond track of all time, closely behind ‘Live and Let Die’ by Paul McCartney and Wings and Shirley Bassey’s ‘Goldfinger’.

Goldeneye 007: Reloaded combines the best elements of Bond with the latest in multiplayer. A thrilling adventure from start to finish, Bond is tested to the limit battling classic Bond baddies including Oddjob to Jaws and is available from 4th November.
