Sofía Vergara doesn't take work too seriously.

The 43-year-old actress was ranked the 32nd most powerful woman by Forbes last year thanks to her successful acting career and other business ventures, such as being the face of Diet Pepsi.

That's not to say her jobs are the most important aspect of her life.

"Modern Family happened very fast. The pilot aired and immediately we started getting recognized. It was such a surprise. The fans are still so adoring, but I've been working in the industry for nearly 25 years now, so I try to make work just one part of my life, not the whole thing," she told British magazine Closer. "I try to enjoy what I do, make it real and bring my friends and family along to enjoy it - the money, my house, and the events. Life goes fast so you can't take work too seriously. I hope my job and fame haven't changed me."

Sofía landed the role of Gloria Delgado-Pritchett when Modern Family began in 2009 and her performance has seen her be nominated for several Golden Globes and Emmy Awards.

Her fame has also helped her find new romance; after splitting from her fiancé Nick Loeb last year she fell in love with hunky actor Joe Manganiello, who she is now engaged to. The pair are often spotted looking loved up and are working on organizing their marriage – rumored to be taking place in November.

"Joe and I are both trying to figure out the wedding because out schedules are so crazy," she added. "We initially wanted a small wedding, but it didn't work with how many people we wanted there so we want it really big now."
