Sofía: Joe's ring rocks

Sofía Vergara has joked she checked the ring was big enough before saying yes to Joe Manganiello's proposal.

The Modern Family actress began dating the hunky star in July 2014 and they were engaged by Christmas.

Displaying her good sense of humour, the stunning 42-year-old quipped the sparkler had to match her requirements. But luckily her beau is so good looking, he was able to get away with a bit more.

"It's all about the bling-bling, so he knew what I needed," she grinned to Access Hollywood.

"I opened it up and I checked it to see. He's so handsome that it would have been OK, you know? I would have said, OK, yeah.'"

Joe managed to hit the nail on the head, and presented Sofía with a beautiful oval diamond.

With the ring firmly on her finger, the next challenge is setting a date for the big day.

"We're trying to figure it out because… he's shooting and promoting Magic Mike [XXL] this summer and I'm promoting my movie with Reese Witherspoon [Hot Pursuit] and so we're kinda busy, but we're trying to do it maybe [in the] fall," she explained. "Summer is going to be too crazy."

The star added they had planned to keep the guest list to 20, but it's now "pages and pages" long.

Joe's movie Magic Mike XXL is the follow-up to the 2012 film, about a bunch of hunky male strippers. It boasts an impressively muscular cast, which Sofía couldn't help but notice.

"I went to see the filming and it was like really crazy," she marvelled. "I was very distracted. It was not only him, it was Channing Tatum, it was Kevin Nash. I mean, there [were] a lot people doing it, so I was like in a candy store."
