Channing Tatum will balance struggle with “a sh*t ton of fun” in Magic Mike 2.

The 33-year-old actor is currently working on the sequel to his hit 2012 male stripper dramedy.

And Channing has revealed producers aren’t interested in creating a sombre film.

"We don't want to make it some serious slice-of-life movie," he told MTV News.

"We want to have real, like reality in it, but we don't want to make like some dark drama. There was some darkness in the last movie and I think it surprised people and shocked people. This one, we want to have a lot of conflict and a lot of struggle, but we also want there to be a sh*t ton of fun. A sh*t ton of ridiculous stuff that you would never see in a movie, on the face of the earth, ever again."

Channing, who is co-authoring the Magic Mike 2 script with Reid Carolin, confirms the next instalment will be a road-trip movie.

He also believes much of the original cast, including Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello, are due to return.

"I think everyone's gonna be back, I think, and obviously nobody's deals are done," Channing said.

Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey is set to reprise his role as sexy exotic dancer, Dallas.

And Channing is elated to watch the Dallas Buyers Club star perform in Magic Mike 2.

"It's the most McConaughey that we've seen in a movie, not just physically... It's just him. He's not the stripper from Tampa, but it's just his personality. He’s such a believer. He's such an extraordinary. He believes in every single thing he does wholeheartedly. That's Dallas. If he's selling ice to an Eskimo, he just believes that the Eskimo needs this ice,” Channing gushed.
