TriForce Promotions, the company founded by Jimmy Akingbola and Fraser Ayres to help increase diversity in all its forms in the entertainment industry, today announces the esteemed judging panel for its annual TriForce Short Film
Festival (TFSFF).

Set up in 2012, TFSFF’s main objective is to support, recognise and honour emerging filmmakers from any background, and provide a platform for them to showcase their work on the big screen. The festival has grown substantially and now has a vast and loyal network of over 30,000 industry professionals.

Now in its third year, the 2014 TFSFF has secured the most lauded on and off screen talent from the TV and film industry to sit on its judging panel. The stellar line-up is a who’s who of British talent including multi BAFTA-winning actress Olivia Colman (Tyrannosaur, Broadchurch, Rev), renowned comedic actress and director Kathy Burke (Nil by Mouth, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy), and actor and playwright Kwame Kwie Armah (Elmina's Kitchen, Statement of Regret). Writer, show runner and Red Planet Pictures MD Tony Jordan (EastEnders), Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz and award winning playwright

Gina Carter complete the panel.

The judges will choose the finalists from hundreds of submissions, as well as the overall winner, which will be announced at the red carpet gala event on Saturday 22 November. The TFSFF Best of the Fest and TFSFF Audience Choice Award will also be announced on the night, which takes place at BAFTA. The festival will also include a diverse collection of seminars and screenings throughout the day. Film submissions are still open and tickets for the festival are available via the TriForce website.

Akingbola, co-founder, TriForce Promotions, says: “We are absolutely delighted to have such a high calibre of judges for this year’s TFSFF. Now in our third year, we are going from strength to strength and are totally committed to giving filmmakers and actors from a multitude of backgrounds the opportunity to get their work seen by industry professionals.
TriForce Promotions is all about diversity of experience and our panel of judges reflects that. We are excited to see the breadth of talent to come through the door this year.”

The TriForce Short Film Festival was set up to support the careers of film directors, producers and screenwriters working in the short independent film sector and increase diversity and collaboration in short film production. Its aim is to find and acknowledge innovative storytelling and connect filmmakers and industry professionals.

The third TriForce Short Film Festival will take place at BAFTA on Saturday 22nd November.
The itinerary for the day will include a diverse collection of seminars and screenings, followed by a red carpet Gala event in the evening.

For a small fee, filmmakers can submit their short films through the TriForce website http://tfsff.triforcepromotions.co.uk/ by 27 October - an early bird discount applies until 23 September. A range of tickets for the festival are also available through the website, starting at £8 for a single seminar through to £120 for VIP entry.
