Jon Voight is “disgusted” by his sex scenes in US TV series Ray Donovan.

The 75-year-old actor plays the womanising ex-con father of the title character in the Showtime series.

But he admits fictional lovemaking for the camera as a septuagenarian doesn’t feel very sexy.

"It's disgusting. You take an old guy and throw him in there - come on!" he laughed to E! News.

Jon is still making the best out of even the most awkward moments. The star is thankful to be sharing the screen with a talented group of actors, including Live Schreiber, who plays Ray, a “fixer” for a Los Angeles law firm.

"It's fun," he told the outlet. "We're all enjoying it. The actors I work with are terrific."

Liev thinks highly of his co-star as well, recently telling Shortlist magazine Jon couldn’t be more different from his hard-partying character.

"Not at all – that’s the irony," he told the outlet in July. “He’s a remarkably conservative person, both emotionally and politically.

He’s a real gentleman. I’ve always wondered about him… He does it [plays crazy] so well, he must have this crazy kinky side. I have no idea what he does after work. I’ve never witnessed any transgressions,” Liev mused.

Executives announced in August the show had been greenlit for season three.

And while Jon is getting his kicks on the programme, he admitted he has “no idea” what writers have in store for his character, although he’s always intrigued.

"I was really excited what we go into this season. I couldn't figure out where we were going to go but the adventure was quite something,” he said.
