Nicholas Hoult says there is “still hope” that he will be a sex symbol.

The British actor first enjoyed success in Hollywood appearing in About a Boy, before going on to land a role in X-Men: First Class. Nicholas is currently promoting Warm Bodies in which he plays a zombie called R. His latest movie outing has drawn comparisons to Robert Pattinson in Twilight, but Nicholas has played down his status as a heartthrob.

“Obviously it’s been compared with the Twilight films just because of the nature of being a dead guy falling in love with a human girl, but it’s very different in tone to those films. It is a perfect blend of horror and romance and comedy. Not necessarily in that order,” he told Total Film. “No sex symbol status for me but there is a shower scene in this one so there is hope yet…”

Nicholas began dating Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence after they appeared in the 2010 film X-Men: First Class.

Earlier this month, there was speculation they had ended their romance due to conflicting work schedules.

In the interview conducted before the break-up rumours, the 23-year-old actor admitted he was uncomfortable with the attention surrounding his high-profile relationship.

“It’s so much pressure but if I [focused on] the pressure of all those sorts of things I’d be a nervous wreck by now,” he explained. “It’s a very nice thing. And obviously, to me, she is.”
