Bella Thorne believes people judge her much more "harshly" than other teenagers.

The 16-year-old actress made her name on Disney TV show Shake It Up, where she plays CeCe Jones. She's grateful for the opportunities the series has provided her with, but is clear about the downsides too.

"I feel the pressure to be the perfect teenager. I make mistakes, my friends make mistakes, we all make mistakes, and it's something you like with and learn through life - but people judge me much more harshly for it than if I were a normal teenager," she told British magazine Company.

Bella is now following in the footsteps of other former Disney stars such as Ryan Gosling and Shia LaBeouf by moving onto the big screen. She has several movies in the pipeline at the moment, but has been cautious about the parts she's accepted due to her work on the TV channel.

"There were projects I wanted to do but couldn't, because I'd just come off the Disney channel and knew people would say, 'Woah, woah, woah,' so I'm taking it slow," she explained. "This year, I have two comedies, Blended and Alexander, then an indie film, and, finally, a horror/thriller. I'm taking it slow, but I'm definitely blossoming and growing as an actress."

Blended also stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and is about the relationship between two adults with kids.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is based on a book about a boy whose day starts badly, and Bella is pleased she is varying her roles already. In the long run she already has an idea of the path she wants to take.

"Christian Bale - he's amazing; such a great actor," she replied, when asked who her acting idol is. "You know, one day, I hope I can really dive into a character the way he does. I love Emma Roberts, Natalie Portman, and Keira Knightley, too."
