Kevin Hart thinks people who wed young “don’t really understand marriage”.

The US actor married Torrei Hart when they were both around 24. After eight years of marriage the couple divorced in 2011.

The now 34-year-old star has spoken out on Entertainment Tonight about his first marriage and how he did things he shouldn’t have.

"You have to learn to be partners for real, and in my first relationship I didn't understand that definition because I was young, so you do things that you shouldn't do," he revealed to ET presenter, Rocsi Diaz.

The comedian was on the show to discuss his upcoming comedy The Wedding Ringer, but things got personal when he opened up about his own romantic history.

“When people get married young, you don't really understand the true definition of marriage," he continued on the show.

Last month Kevin’s now ex-wife accused his current girlfriend Eniko Parrish of breaking up their marriage.

"It does hurt that my kids have to be around a woman who broke up a marriage," Torrei told Entertainment Tonight. "I was with [Kevin] when he was selling sneakers for five dollars an hour. I was at every show. I was at his first show where he ever did stand-up... I was his muse. I was there from the beginning."

“I guess giving a woman over 20k a month and still being there for her and being a incredible father isn't enough (sic)!” Kevin retaliated via Twitter.
