Rachel Weisz is reportedly in talks to star in forthcoming drama The Light Between Oceans.

The Oscar-winning actress is said to be negotiating a role in DreamWorks’ adaptation of the 2012 novel by M.L. Stedman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She would join X-Men star Michael Fassbender in the story, about a lighthouse keeper and his wife who find a two-month-old girl and a dead body on a rowboat off the coast of Western Australia after World War I, and decide to raise the child as their own.

The Place Beyond the Pines director Derek Cianfrance has been tapped to helm the period feature.

A production schedule has yet to be released.

Rachel has several projects in the works through 2015.

THR reports she recently wrapped shooting for independent sci-fi romance The Lobster, co-starring Colin Farrell.

According to IMDb, she’s currently filming Paolo Sorrentino-directed drama The Early Years, alongside Paul Dano, Michael Caine, Jane Fonda and Harvey Keitel.

Both films are scheduled for a 2015 release.

But first, she’s due to hit cinemas in romantic comedy Miss You Already opposite Toni Collette, telling the story of two friends who are tested when one becomes ill and the other starts a family.
