David Duchovny and Téa Leoni have reportedly divorced.

The Hollywood couple are said to have quietly parted ways in June and settled all the terms themselves, reports TMZ.

David filed the documents, citing an irretrievable breakdown of the relationship the news outlet states.

The X-Files actor married Téa in May 1997.

Their first child, daughter, Madelaine West Duchovny, was born in April 1999.

In June 2002 Téa gave birth to their second child, son Kyd Miller Duchovny.

In August 2008 David announced he had checked himself into a rehabilitation centre to treat a sex addiction. In October both his and Téa’s representatives released a statement saying the couple had split some months earlier.

The couple reunited but split once more in 2011. A year later David stated they were still married but remained separated.

TMZ reports under the terms of the divorce David and Téa have joint legal custody of their two children, and the 48-year-old actress has primary physical custody.

They reportedly remain living close by to one another, both on the Upper West Side of New York City.

The 54-year-old actor is allegedly paying $8,333 a month in child support, plus all other expenses including summer camp, private school and college.

He's also thought to be paying $40K a month in spousal support.
