Aaron Paul will be devastated if Breaking Bad finishes in the near future as he wants it to go on forever.

The actor is Jesse Pinkman in the American television show, about a chemistry teacher who begins producing drug crystal meth with an accomplice. Aaron’s portrayal netted him the best supporting actor Emmy Award last year, with his co-star Bryan Cranston taking home the best actor prize.

The fourth season of the drama will hit screens in the US this weekend, with executive producer Vince Gilligan recently saying he expects the next series to be the last. Aaron hopes that isn’t true, as he can’t imagine not working on the programme.

“It makes me really sad,” he told EW. “It makes sense to end it on a good note. It’s good to end with people wanting more.

“I feel we could do 6 [seasons]. I don’t want it to end.”

Aaron wasn’t in a completely maudlin mood though. He was also happy to talk in vague terms about the latest instalment of the show, although he refused to give away any secrets.

“If you like crazy and dark, you’re gonna love this season,” he laughed.

Last month, Vince admitted he wasn’t sure how long the show could continue for. It means a lot to him but he doesn’t want to see it start disappointing loyal fans.

“I would like to see Breaking Bad go - it kinda changes if you ask me last season or the season before versus this one, but right now I would say season five should probably be our last season. But you know, check with me a year from now, we’ll see if I change my tune,” he said.
